A well-established residential framing subcontractor in the Sacramento region is adding an Estimator to its preconstruction team. The work is production housing: single-family tracts and multifamily wood-frame projects for regional and national builders, with a steady bid calendar and a team that has been doing this for decades.

What you will do

• Perform quantity takeoffs for framing lumber, engineered wood products, hardware, and related materials from architectural and structural drawings
• Build complete labor and material estimates for single-family and multifamily wood-frame scopes
• Solicit and level vendor and supplier pricing; track lumber market movement
• Prepare bid packages, scope letters, and estimate backup
• Price change orders, addenda, and value-engineering alternatives
• Participate in bid reviews and handoff to project management

What we are looking for

• 3+ years estimating wood-frame construction, ideally for a framing subcontractor or a builder's in-house framing group
• Fluency in framing means and methods, Simpson and USP hardware, EWP, and plan reading
• Strong Excel; experience with takeoff and estimating software (eTakeoff, Bluebeam, Sage Estimating, MiTek, or similar) is a plus
• Organized, accurate, and comfortable owning bids end to end
