Construction Manager
High-volume residential framing contractor · Sacramento and the Central Valley · Direct hire

A long-established residential framing contractor working for California's high-volume homebuilders. Subdivision work, ground-up, residential and multifamily, repeat builder relationships, and a pipeline that does not run dry. This is a direct-hire seat with real ownership attached to it.

The Role

You run framing production across a portfolio of active subdivisions in the Sacramento region and the Central Valley, residential and multifamily both.

This is a leadership seat, not a field superintendent job. The superintendents, foremen, and lead framers in the field report up to you. You are accountable for schedule, manpower, cost, and quality across every job at once, rather than for any single one of them.

The territory is Sacramento and the Central Valley. Occasional trips into the East Bay, but the work sits here. You report directly to the company principal, so there is no layer between you and the decision maker.

What You Will Own

  • Framing production across a portfolio of concurrent subdivisions, residential and multifamily, keeping starts and completions aligned to each builder's release schedule
  • The field leadership team. Hiring, developing, and holding accountable the superintendents, foremen, and lead framers under you
  • Manpower strategy across the portfolio, moving crews between communities as builder releases and weather move
  • The schedule commitments made to each builder, and the relationship that comes with them
  • Labor cost and production performance against budget, per plan and per unit
  • Quality and code compliance standards across every job, executed through your field leaders
  • Lumber and material package planning, staged against the schedule and not against the yard's convenience
  • The safety program. OSHA compliance enforced on every site, every day

What You Bring

  • Multi-subdivision responsibility in homebuilding. This is the non-negotiable. Not one community at a time, but a portfolio carried at once, with the schedule and cost consequences that come with it
  • A background from either side of the table. A production homebuilder or a competing framing contractor. Both work, as long as framing production is where the responsibility sat
  • Leadership and management experience with superintendents and foremen reporting to you, including hiring and performance
  • Residential and multifamily exposure. This portfolio is a mix, not one or the other
  • Ability to read framing plans, truss layouts, shear and hold-down schedules, and catch the problem before the crew builds it
  • Valid California driver's license, clean driving record, and U.S. work authorization

Strongly Preferred

  • Bilingual English and Spanish. The framing crews in the field are Spanish speaking. Direction, corrections, and safety conversations happen at the crew level every day, and the person in this seat is the one having them
  • Production homebuilder experience (tract and subdivision), rather than custom or commercial
  • Familiarity with builder scheduling platforms (BuildPro, Hyphen, Procore) and Bluebeam
