Residential Development Company | Strategic Finance Role | High-Visibility Opportunity
A leading residential development company is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join its Sacramento-based team. This high-impact role supports budgeting, forecasting, land acquisition modeling, and divisional performance reporting.

Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and review annual budgets and quarterly financial forecasts
Support feasibility modeling for land acquisition and new project evaluation
Assist in due diligence efforts and assemble land acquisition packages
Produce detailed financial reports and management dashboards
Maintain divisional KPIs and prepare weekly gross margin backlog updates
Support pricing updates, lot release planning, and MLS coordination
Generate monthly lot takedown reports and quarterly corporate reporting packages
Update project Proformas and provide written variance explanations
Coordinate monthly budget meetings across internal departments
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting; CPA or Master’s a plus
5+ years of experience in financial analysis or accounting
Solid understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
Real estate or homebuilding industry experience preferred but not required
Advanced Excel skills; ability to build complex models and scenario analyses
Experience with JD Edwards, PeopleSoft, SAP, or Business Objects is a plus
Strong communication, organization, and presentation skills
Preferred Experience:
Exposure to residential development or land acquisition analysis
Background in financial planning & analysis (FP&A) within a project-based industry
Hands-on experience supporting cross-functional teams and executive leadership
