A leading homebuilder is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Controller to oversee financial operations and reporting processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and finance, preferably within the homebuilding or construction industry. As Controller, you will be integral in managing budgets, overseeing financial reporting, and partnering closely with senior leadership to drive growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct accounting and financial operations, including the preparation of financial statements, budgets, and variance analyses.
  • Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes, ensuring compliance with GAAP and other regulatory standards.
  • Lead budgeting and forecasting processes, providing insights to support business decision-making.
  • Ensure internal controls are effective and that company policies and procedures are consistently followed.
  • Collaborate with senior management and departments to streamline processes and drive financial efficiency.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop the accounting team, promoting a culture of accountability and precision.
  • Oversee financial audits and work closely with external auditors to ensure a timely and successful audit process.
  • Analyze and interpret financial data, identifying trends and presenting findings to executive leadership.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in accounting or finance, with a background in construction or real estate preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance.
  • Proficiency with financial systems and software; experience with ERP systems a plus.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across functions and present complex financial information effectively.
